Please Help Bring Adam Cook Back for the American Idol Finale!

David Cook Fans Can Make This Happen!

If you are a fan of American Idol, and have been watching Season 7, I'm sure you're aware of the extremely talented singer/ musician/songwriter David Cook, who is currently a contestant on the show. And no doubt you've heard that his older brother, Adam, is battling cancer, and was flown along with his wife Kendra, to Los Angeles from their home in Terre Haute, Indiana on a special medical flight which cost nearly $80,000. The flight was equipped with a nurse and a medic, and on April 15th and 16th, Adam and Kendra Cook were in the audience to watch David perform on the American Idol stage.

With only one week to go before the finale week, fans must vote like they've never voted before to ensure David Cook is in the finale. We are still hoping that we can raise enough money to bring Adam Cook back to Los Angeles for the finale week of American Idol, which is at the end of May, so that Adam and his wife can watch David perform on the American Idol stage one more time. David Cook will perform during the American Idol finale even if he doesn't make the Top 2. (But he will!)

This idea began on April 18th, when fans of David Cook on the American Idol Community board got word that after Adam came home from his visit in Los Angeles, he had done a 180 degree turn from where he had been the week before. I thought it would be a nice gesture if fans could start a fund to bring Adam back, and many people on the American Idol Community message board agreed, and have already contributed to the fund. To keep the momentum going, maintain credibility, and have a place where people can voice their support, I have created a Yuku community board at http://helpbringadamback.yuku.com/ Please register and post your support there.

On Monday, April 21st, I set up an account at Adam Cook's local bank for the purpose of collecting funds for Adam to make another trip to California, with the help of Vickie Wallace, who is the account manager of a fund account that was already set up for medical bills and expenses for Adam Cook.

I don't know how much money fans can pool together for this purpose, and there's no guarantee that it can happen whether we can get the money together or not. If it doesn't work out for whatever reason, the money all goes to Adam Cook, to use however he would like, and he is the only one who can draw funds from this account. I have no control over it whatsoever.

Fans of David Cook on the American Idol Community board, collectively known as the "Word Nerds", have started this ball rolling, but we now need to branch out to find others who might be willing to contribute to this cause to make this dream a reality. $80,000 is a lot of money, but I believe David Cook's fans are generous and caring enough people to open their hearts and give what they can to this cause, and bring Adam back for the finale!

The final say for the trip would have to come from Adam's doctor, of course, but if the money could be raised to get him to Los Angeles again, that's one major obstacle overcome already!

Please help bring Adam back for the American Idol finale! Please tell everyone you know about this fund and encourage them to send any amount, no matter how small. $1 from a thousand people is another thousand dollars; $5 is $5,000. We need to raise $80,000 to bring Adam back for the finale of American Idol, in the next few weeks. There isn't much time.
